Welcome to Clínica Veterinaria Bendinat. Established in 2003 by Nick Murgatroyd BVSc MRCVS. After qualifying and working for more than 10 years in UK clinics and hospitals Nick decided to set up CV Bendinat. His aim was to build and create a clinic with the highest level of veterinary skill and the best levels of care and comfort for the animals, so that both pets and their owners have complete trust in us and they feel part of the CV Bendinat family. We are all pet owners and we often bring our pets to the clinic which creates a relaxed environment for any nervous visitors. Your pet will always find a tasty treat waiting for you in reception.

SERVICES

As you would expect, we have all the things a clinic should have, plus some extra care and love. We are happy to give advice on any animal topic and we have many "information sheets" to take home and study. We have a new CV Bendinat App, where you can access all your pet’s statistics.

Preventative Medicine

Prevention is better than a cure. We strongly believe in the importance of a full health check with every visit and up to date advice regarding important local diseases (eg. Leishmania, Procesionaria del pino, etc), and preventative treatments, with information sheets to take home. All aimed at keeping your pet fit and healthy.

NICK MURGATROYD | VETERINARY SURGEON

I’m known as “Nick the vet”. I was born and brought up in York. Then I studied at Bristol University Veterinary School from ’84-’89! In England I worked for 2 glorious years treating cattle, sheep and horses in the National Park of Exmoor in Devon. After which I returned for 5 years to a huge practice in Bristol. Finally before coming to Mallorca in 2001, I worked for 5 years in the lovely city of Salisbury. In Salisbury I was the head vet in a 6 veterinary surgeon practice dedicated to 100% small animal work. My main area of interest was surgery and orthopaedics.

I came to Mallorca after meeting my partner, who is from Mallorca. She was studying English in Salisbury! We now have 3 beautiful children, 1 dog and 2 cats!!

We set up the clinic with the aim of giving the best veterinary care and service. Our priority is to make all our patients feel safe and secure whatever their problem and that they feel part of a caring Clínica Veterinaria Bendinat family.

CRISTINA VILELA | VETERINARY SURGEON

I graduated from the University Complutense of Madrid in 1999. After qualifying I continued my studies with a 2 year internship in the veterinary department, specialising in gastro-enterology. Then I worked for 5 years in the referral hospital “Los Madroños” in Madrid.

Then in 2004 I decided to change my life, marry a Mallorcan and move to Mallorca.

Now I have been working in Clinica Veterinaria Bendinat for 15 years and I love my job looking after the dogs and cats that I see every day. My main interest is internal medicine, i.e. diseases and illnesses. And I consider each patient unique and in need of all my skills. I still love learning and every day I dedicate some time to learn more. At the end of each day I am happy that I have been able to help improve the quality of life of my furry Friends and their families.

ANTONIO STERLING | VETERINARY SURGEON

I graduated in the University Complutense of Madrid in 2019. My life’s desire is to work with small animals. And hence during my time at University and after qualifying, I have worked in numerous specialised veterinary hospitals, clinics and even the Fundation Once (guide dogs for the blind).

The summer after graduating from University I volunteered to go to Thailand and care for the street cats and dogs; what an experience!!

Then shortly afterwards I worked in Madrid before deciding to come to Mallorca. I have always loved the island and I have family roots here.

Since joining the Clinica Veterinaria Bendinat team I strive to give the best care and attention possible to every patient, using the most up to date diagnostic protocols and modern medicines in an ever developing veterinary field.

What I enjoy about our veterinary team is the great support from everyone in the team and this makes me eager to arrive at work every morning with a smile. Nor do we see each pet as just another case; we get to know them all well and try as hard as possible to make each visit a good experience for both pets and their owners

MARINA | VETERINARY NURSE

I am Marina the veterinary nurse.

I have been working in Clinica Veterinaria Bendinat for 13 years. I did my nurse training through Fomento profesional and have regularly followed this up with courses in Madrid and Barcelona.

I am the first smiley face that your pets see when they wake up from an aneasthetic. They will never be lacking a bit of fuss and kisses when under my care!!

ALBA | RECEPTION AND VETERINARY NURSE

I am the most recent incorporation in the Clinica Veterianaria Bendinat team and I’m so pleased to be part of such a great team.

I adore animals, and since a young age I have dedicated my life to looking after them. As soon as possible I started studying to be a veterinary nurse. Up to now I have completed two intensive courses and several months of practical studies in various veterinary clinics in Mallorca.

I hope to be able to continue studying and acquire as much experience as necessary for a future working with animals.

At the same time I love dealing with all our clients and their adorable pets when they arrive at the clinic. They always receive lots of fuss, more treats and infinite love.

MARY | PRACTICE MANAGER & RECEPTIONIST

I worked for 5-6 years here when the clinic first opened, and I left to raise my family. Now I have returned with the same keenness and illusion as the first time round. Furry friends are my “hobby”!

My job involves the smooth running of the clinic and client care in reception. I try to make all client’s visits, whether they are pets or their owners, as easy and as pleasurable as possible…but the pets are the real stars.

We can only achieve all this because of the great team in the Clinica Veterinaria Bendinat. It's more than a job........ it's love for our pets.

PAULINA | RECEPTIONIST

I am studying Biochemistry in the University of Baleares.

I first came to Clinica Veterinaria Bendinat as a client with my family pets and they still all come here.

Several summers ago Nick offered me the job to cover holidays and days off of the receptionists (because I am lucky enough to be able to speak English, Spanish and German) and I jumped at the chance and now I am a regular part of this lovely team. I am still studying hard but whenever I am needed I´m here because I love all the fun with animals.

DOLLY | CLINIC ENVIRONMENTAL CARE

I am Dolly, I have been working for many years in Clínica Veterinaria Bendinat. It is my job each day to make the clinic clean and fresh and 100% safe for all the visits that day.

FACILITIES

Nick designed the clinic with the comfort of pets and clients in mind. The whole clinic is air-conditioned. The partitions between the various areas of the clinic have many windows, making it easy for us to keep an eye on every pet at all times.
